Blog. Bloggy. Blog. Blog.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. This is where you find me rambling on about weddings, recent sessions, life and coffee. You know... the important stuff. :) To the left you will see one of my favorite pictures I have of my daddy and myself. I love how a picture can tug on the heart strings, bring back sounds, smells and feelings, and I strive to capture images for others that do just that! So enjoy and leave some love.

Two to Three {Mommy Stuff}

Posted on August 28, 2010

It’s amazing how just one more can be so much!

Becoming a three year old is such a process for a little person. I often hear parents talk about how two’s weren’t too bad, but getting to three was a nightmare. I secretly giggle… as once you done it once… twice… you know too well the elephant on the chest feeling, the nights wondering if you are messing up, the days where you wish you could hide in a closet for some peace and quiet. The two to almost three year old can go from happy camper to the Insane Clown Posse in a matter of seconds. I always called this stage “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde Phase”

My sweet candy Andy made the transition over the summer. And lucky for his brothers he left eggshells where ever he was. :) The boys didn’t know what to do… run and hide or push him down and deal with mom. I had to constantly remind them that they too went through this… and it will pass.

I am so happy to say

WE MADE IT!!

Sure there are small moments here and there… what kid doesn’t! But we made it through our final Jekyll and Hyde phase. I am sure in the preteen years this phase will rear it’s ugly head again… but in the mean time we are all enjoying the Andy that has emerged. He’s even allowing us to call him Andersen on occasion without screaming at us. He’s blossomed into such a sweet, caring and loving little guy. He loves legos, his family and can’t sit still to save his life. He demands book time and makes us all dance at the drop of a hat. But we love it… and we love him!!

So mamas of two almost threes …. hang in there… this too shall pass. Don’t fret… laugh it off! It’s all a process and you WILL survive!!

Cakeballs? Cake balls? CakeBALLS!!!!! Anyway you put it… once you pop one of these babies in your mouth your life will never be the same.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I am looking to upgrade some equipment before the year is over… I would probably consider taking payment by cakeballs. One session for 10 cakeballs. A wedding for 10 dozen. Yeah…. cakeballs won’t pay the bills… and plus I am sure there is nothing “good” about a cakeball except for it’s taste and yummy cake batter like texture. DELISH!

Will I be making these? NO WAY! {Well maybe… who knows.. I don’t know… I want to eat them… so I will probably have to eventually.} NO! My kids will have to dream on! I am not one who likes messy baking projects… but anytime someone wishes to share some of these delightful treats I will NOT turn them away! And I MIGHT share a few with the kiddies!

Thanks NICHOLE for introducing us to the DEVIL DESSERT called CAKEBALLS!! I am now in search of something you can’t stop craving. :o )

Ok so picture this….

I was handed the bag of cakeballs after the session… we were starving and our energy level had dropped to 20% for sure! So I turn to the sister… “Want a cakeball” of course I giggle… how can you not say cakeball and not giggle? The sister says “Why sure!” So we both bite into our first ever cakeball and both exclaim “Oh MY GOODNESS”… well one of us did, probably me.. sounds like something I would say….

So as we traveled down the country back road to get from Lebanon to Belleville…. I sounded like Bubba Gump…

Cakeballs and Ice Cream

Cakeballs on top of Cheesecake

Chocolate Cakeballs

Chocolate chips in cakeballs

Cream cheese in cake balls

Strawberry Lemon cake balls

Apple Spice Cake Balls

Spice and Pumpkin Cakeballs

and on and on and on……

If you are interested in making cakeballs…. go HEREand you will find the recipe and directions! If you make some SHARE.. if you don’t share don’t tell people {me} you made them…. for I won’t care. {deep down I will.. I will be so sad… to not have been given a tasty cakeball}

So that’s my cakeball story!!!

ENJOY!

~Stacy
