What’s Cookin’ Good Looking? {Belleville IL Wedding Photographers}
Posted on December 4, 2009

We are a house full of scone lovin fools. I have never personally tried to make them, and if someone has an easy and good recipe I will happily make it and report back. We make trips to the local coffee house (Sweeter House of Coffee) so mom and dad can get a GOOD cup of coffee and we usually grab scones. Blueberry are our favorite! It doesn’t happen too often, as the price of a good cup of coffee and scones for a family of 5 isn’t going to be cheap. On top of that the kids usually want a Strawberry Bomb of their own. So if you have no clue what I am talking about, then you NEED, no no… YOU MUST head to Lebanon and grab a Lebanon Latte, a blue berry scone. If you aren’t a coffee lover then I would highly recommend the Chi Latte or a Strawberry Bomb!! Ok so back to scones….
I was a Deirbergs a few weeks back and spied with my little eyes…. these treats!
I am a package person. Meaning if it appeals to my eye, I’m gonna buy it! When I saw the cute penguin how could I not resist? And plus for the price of 2 scones at the coffee house I could buy 8! So the next day we popped these babies open and set out to make our quick and easy scones. As you can see they look like biscuits in a can. Hmmmm
So we cooked them up and served them up.
And the review….
As much as I wanted to love these, I didn’t. The kids ate them and enjoyed them for the most part. I don’t think they will be something they ask for. And yes they do ask for the Blueberry cakes at the coffee house.
So the taste reminded the hubby and I of biscuits in a can and left a greasy feel on the roof of our mouths. Odd. So, sadly I won’t be buying these cutely packaged blueberry biscuits again. Looks like the Sweeter House will be having us for breakfast this weekend, talking about blueberry scones has me longing for a GOOD one!
Thanks and Enjoy!

awesome pics stacy! too bad the scones aren’t as good as the pictures.
i have to ask…is that a tablecloth under the plate? i love it! do you mind sharing where you got it?
It is actually fabric I picked up at Hobby Lobby to use at a 1 year session, but ended up keeping in hopes to make kitchen curtains out of it.

The best scones I have ever tried are at The London Tea Room on Washington Ave. I am addicted to them!! I do have a recipe somewhere, I will dig it up and send it to you!
